Pyrgeometer

Pyrgeometer

The pyrgeometer is the instrument used to measure the spectrum of infrared electromagnetic radiation in the atmosphere in the range 4.5 µm-100 µm (far infrared radiation – FIR).

Measurements refer to radiation with a wavelength greater than 4.5 µm and are mainly used in the meteorological field. When combined with an albedometer, it can also be used for energy balance studies.
